Visit the Kuruvungna Springs Cultural Center & Museum in West LA

If you live in West LA, chances are you've driven by the Kuruvunga Springs which is adjacent to University High School. The Tongva Tribe were the first inhabitants of the LA Basin. In fact the land is owned by the LAUSD, leased by the Gabrielino / Tongva Springs Foundation, and it's open on the first Saturday on the month. You can walk the grounds and see the bubbling spring which will surprise you since it's happening in your backyard. There is a Museum that holds artifacts and photos, many of which are from the grounds of University High School. It's free and it's a fun visit.

We did catch word that the name will be officially changing and we'll keep you updated when it's official.
